Counselling
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency or crisis:
- Reach out to a crisis line or the Access and Assessment Centre if you are located in Vancouver, B.C.
- Go to the closest Hospital Emergency Department
- Call 911
My approach to therapy is integrative, collaborative, inclusive, and grounded in research. I avoid jargon and will continually evaluate our work together with your feedback to ensure we are moving towards your goals.
I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) in good standing with the BC College of Social Workers and hold a Master’s degree in Social Work. I offer a complimentary 20 minute consultation, either in-person in my Downtown Vancouver office or by phone, to answer any questions you may have about counselling, therapy, and working with me. I also offer secure online video therapy for clients across British Columbia.
Taking care of your mental health
Counselling or psychotherapy, sometimes referred to as talk therapy, can seem scary, especially if it’s your first time reaching out for support. You might not know what to expect, worry about what other people think, or believe there is something “wrong” with you for wanting or needing help.
Know that you are not alone. One in five people experience a mental illness in their lifetime such as depression and/or anxiety. Unfortunately, only half of the people ever diagnosed access treatment and support due to shame, fear, or stigma.
The reality is everyone experiences an emotional or psychological difficulty at some point in their life. We are human and unhelpful thoughts, behaviors, and difficult circumstances can get in the way of our emotional and mental well being.
Therapy can help anyone transform their lives for the better, no matter who they are, where they are in life, or how big a problem may seem. Feeling vulnerable and reaching out for help is a sign of strength, never a weakness. Vulnerability is the foundation of courage.

Investing in your mental health
Mental health, like physical health, is a state of being. How you feel about yourself and your relationships, and how you manage stress and approach challenges in your daily life are all parts of your mental well-being. Mental health, like physical health, is a key part of your overall health.
The counselling relationship is a collaboration between you and a professional. My goal is to walk along side you to help develop the skills, insight, knowledge and the resources to get unstuck or gain greater control of your life.
This unique partnership means dedicating time that is strictly focused on you, your needs, and improving your situation. Like investing in physical activity or making healthier food choices, taking time to work on your mind is an investment in your mental health and your overall sense of wellness.
